How many of us have felt moments of deep despair, pain, or grief? In these moments where it feels like the sun has stopped shining forever, we can sometimes feel completely absorbed by the waves of our emotional turbulence. I’m willing to bet we have all felt a variation of this at one point in time or another.
In examining the relationship we have with our bodies, an important question to ponder is if we truly appreciate and express gratitude for all our bodies do for us. I know I certainly didn’t love my body for most of my life. Rather than treating my body like the precious vessel for my soul and beloved friend that it is, I chose instead to shun it and judge it based on arbitrarily society-constructed beauty standards.
Our bodies do so much for us – this is an undeniable truth.
We all encounter moments in life where our emotions and thoughts may become overwhelming. Our mind can begin to swirl with ruminating thoughts and we can feel the emotions running rampant throughout our body.
For some of us, these tumultuous states seem to appear more often than not (shoutout to my fellow anxiety-prone friends) and often, we are at a loss for how to stop these energies from taking over our day.
